World Indigenous Cancer Conference 2024
11 December 2023
The World Indigenous Cancer Conference 2024 will bring key Indigenous cancer researchers, clinicians, advocates and community to Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. The conference will identify international research priorities, foster new collaboration, enhance capacity and share knowledge and information about Indigenous people living with cancer on a global scale.
We are thrilled to announce that two of our ALIGN network, Louise Lyons and Justine Clark, have been selected to present their work at the conference. This is an excellent opportunity to engage with the Indigenous cancer sector, and to grow awareness of the ALIGN agenda in reducing the burden of cancer for Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander people.
Ms Lyons, Senior Manager, Strategy and Policy, ALIGN, will be presenting on “Improving and increasing access to cancer clinical trials for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people”.
Dr Clark, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Telethon Kids Institute and ALIGN NSW Node member, will be presenting on “Towards a genomics-guided precision cancer program for Aboriginal South Australians”.
ALIGN will be further represented at the conference by Associate Professor Kalinda Griffiths (conference convenor), and Professor Alex Brown (presenter).
The World Indigenous Cancer Conference 2024 will be held 18th – 20th March 2024, Naarm (Melbourne) Victoria, Australia.
